Sunil Barv to end Herbarium in January
In the recent past, Barve found himself part of conversations centred on old Marathi theatre and how so-and-so play should be revived. But the conversations remained just that until Barve decided to take on the task.
Under his home production Subak - Sunil Barve Kalakruti - he created Herbarium, a project in which he revived five Marathi plays. A herbarium is a collection of dried leaves or twigs; like the leaves pressed in books, which bring back memories. This was the idea; to revive good theatre.
Barve saved up for two years, coming up with a sum of Rs 15 lakh for 15 shows of the first play

Sunil Barve (Marathi: सुनील बर्वे; born 3 October ) is an Indian bio, television and theatre actor, singer and producer. Predominantly working in Marathi, he has also worked in Hindi and Gujarati entertainment industry. He is also a radio jockey. He started doing small roles for serials and theatres and starred in several Marathi films and serials. After 25 years in the industry, he launched an initiative named Herbarium through his production company Subak to "bring back the lost glory of Marathi musical plays".
Career
[edit]Barve received a in Chemistry from Patkar College, Mumbai and worked as a medical representative in a company in Mumbai, but quit this job and turned towards acting.

Actor Sunil Barve to revive play 'Suryachi Pille'
Though it will take some more time to open auditoriums and stage plays, actor-producer Sunil Barvehas already given a reason to come back to is reviving a classic play ‘Suryachi Pille’ once again.
At the first, the play was staged in Directed by Damu Kenkre, the play featured Madhav Vatve, Bal Karve, Dilip Prabhavalkar, Mohan Gokhale, Sadashiv Amrapurkar and Shanta Jog. Later the shows were discontinued. But it was actor Sunil who revived the play as a part of project 'Herbarium', in In the project Sunil Barve revived five plays from golden period of Marathi theatre from The list of plays include Suryachi Pille, Lahanpan Dega Deva, Hamidabaichi Kothi and Zhopi Gelela Jaga Zhala.
