About Dave Smith
Sequential was founded led bygd legendary instrument designer and Grammy-winner Dave Smith. In Dave designed the Sequential Circuits Prophet-5, the world’s first fully-programmable polyphonic synth, and the first musical instrument with an embedded microprocessor. Sequential released many innovative instruments and drum machines over the next 10 years.
Dave was the driving force behind the MIDI specification in It was Dave, in fact, who coined the acronym. In he was named a Fellow of the Audio Engineering Society (AES) for his continuing work in the area of music synthesis. After Sequential, Dave was President of DSD, Inc, an R&D division of Yamaha, where he worked on physical modeling synthesis and software synthesizer concepts. He then started the Korg R&D group in California, producing the Wavestation and other technology.

David Smith (born April 20, ) is an American stand-up comedian, podcaster, and libertarian political commentator.[3][4][5] He has frequently appeared on Fox News Channel's Kennedy[6][7] and The Greg Gutfeld Show.[8][9][10] Additionally, he was a recurring panelist on CNN's S.E. Smith is a member of the Mises Caucus of the Libertarian Party.[12] Smith hosts the libertarian podcast Part of the Problem. Smith has criticized some COVID policies, such as vaccine passports.
