Kevin Cobb
Trumpeter Kevin Cobb became a member of the American Brass Quintet in the fall of 1998 and currently serves on the faculties of the Yale School of Music, The Juilliard School, and SUNY Stony Brook. Equally at home in the orchestral realm, he has served as guest principal trumpet with numerous orchestras throughout the United States and performs as Principal trumpet with the Orchestra of St. Lukes, as well making regular appearamces with New York organizations such as the Metropolitan musikdrama Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, and the New York City Ballet Orchestra. Originally from Bowling Green, Ohio his first solo CD entitled "One" features an all-American schema of unaccompanied trumpet solos on the Summit Label. He holds a BM from the Curtis Institute of Music and an MM from The Juilliard School.

Joseph H. Bearns Prize
The Joseph H. Bearns Prize in Music was established on February 3, 1921, by Lillia M. Bearns in memory of her father. The purpose of the prize is to encourage talented young composers in the United States. Administered by Columbia University, the prize is open to United States citizens who are between 18 and 25 years old. It is divided into two categories: larger-form works (such as orchestral and choral compositions) and smaller-form works (such as solos, quartets, and sextets). The Joseph H. Bearns Prize is one of the most significant awards granted to young American composers, and in 2006, it amounted to a total of $7,200.[1]

Biography
George Hadjimarkou was born in Famagusta, Cyprus in 1971 and started his musical studies at the age of six learning to play various stringed instruments including mandolin, bouzouki and, a few years later, guitar. He studied bouzouki with Nikos Voutsinos, while his formal guitar training with Yiannis Constantinou included a course in music theory of the Royal School of Music. At the age of thirteen, as a promising young artist, he traveled to Athens, Greece and won the first-prize at the "Young Talent Competition", while started his career as a soloist. After he served the army band S.M.E.F. playing the trombone, he studied harmony with Costas Kalathas while, collaborated with famous singers and performers such as: Costas Makedonas and most recently, with George Dalaras, Anna Vissi, Dimitris Mpasis, Glafkos Kontemeniotis and Jorge Caballero among others. He was featured on the National Television CYBC and the channel Logos regularly in the weekly live TV show "Ena ki Ena
