    Suryakant Tripathi Nirala

    Sūrjakantas Tripathis dar žinomas kaip Nirala (hind.सूर्यकांत त्रिपाठी 'निराला', IAST: Sūryakānt Tripāṭhī „Nirālā“; g. 1896 m. sausio 21 d. – 1961 m. spalio 15 d.) – Indijos poetas, rašytojas.

Gimė brahmanų šeimoje Midnapure (Bengalijoje). Mokėsi bengalų, anglų, hindi, sanskrito kalbų. Buvo paveiktas „Bengalijos renesanso“ (Tagorės, Vivekanandos, Ramakrišnos). Pradėjo rašyti hindi kalba. Nirala anksti neteko motinos, vėliau žmonos ir dukters, patyrė skurdą, darbavosi leidyklose kaip kalbos redaktorius.

Sūrjakanto Tripathio kūryba priskiriama hindi romantistinės poezijos (chāyāvād) laikotarpiui. Jo kūryboje susilieja vedantinė filosofija, nacionalizmo, humanizmo idėjos, protestas prieš socialinę santvarką. Jis pirmasis iš hindi poetų rašė baltosiomis eilėmis, nevengė eksperimentuoti, todėl ir pramintas „Nirala“ („išskirtinis“).

    Bene svarbiausias Niralos veikalas – poema „Ramos galios pašlovinimas“ (राम की शक्ति पूजा)
