Michael Jerome Oher (; néWilliams Jr.;[1] born May 28, 1986) is an American former professional football player who was a tackle for eight seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Ole Miss Rebels, earning unanimous All-American honors as a senior in 2008. Oher was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round of the 2009 NFL draft. He spent his first five seasons with the Ravens and was a member of the team that won Super Bowl XLVII. He later played one season for the Tennessee Titans and his final two for the Carolina Panthers.
Oher's life through his final year of high school and first year of college is one of the subjects of Michael Lewis' 2006 book, The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game, and was dramatized in the 2009 film adaptation.

Michael Oher's story of going from homelessness to the NFL after being taken in by the Tuohy family inspired thousands after it was depicted in a book, and then the Oscar-nominated film The Blind Side.
On Aug. 14, however, the retired NFL star alleged in a legal filing that the story was largely false, and claimed that Leigh Anne Tuohy and Sean Tuohy lied about adopting him while making millions off his name.

Michael Oher Now: Judge Ends Tuohy Family’s Conservatorship
On September 29, a stat i usa judge ended a conservatorship agreement between former pro football player Michael Oher and the Tuohy family, who became Oher’s guardians in high school. Oher had filed a court petition against Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy in August alleging that they never formally adopted him and instead tricked him into signing a document making them his conservators less than three months before he turned 18 in 2004. This agreement gave the Tuohys control of his finances and legal authority to man business deals in his name, allowing their family to earn millions of dollars in royalties from The Blind Side, while Oher received nothing, according to the petition. The financial dispute will continue in court.
