Laurie Williams
Laurie recently became a mum so balances her time away from sport with looking after her daughter, Alba with her partner and teammate Robyn Love.
She started wheelchair basketball in 2005 after being spotted at a wheelchair racing event. The Manchester native then went on to represent the North West at junior regional championships where she was asked to train with the GB set up as a promising young talent.
Known for her speed on the court, it wouldn’t be long before she made her senior debut in 2009 en route to a Paralympic debut at London 2012, becoming a mainstay of the squad ever since. She has helped the team to multiple European medals and a historic silver at the World Championships in 2018.
After graduating from Loughborough University with a degree in Social Psychology, Laurie went on to train and study Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Alabama – winning the 2014 National Championship with the Crimson Tide in her graduation year.

William Ellard Para-Swimmer
Beccles-born William Ellard is a World and European mästare para-swimmer in the S14 Intellectually Impaired classification.
A breakout year in 2023 witnessed Ellard claim multiple World Series medals before making his full senior international debut at the World Para Swimming Championships on home soil in Manchester where he claimed individual silver in the 200m Freestyle, in addition to gold and silver in the S14 Mixed 4x100m Freestyle and Medley relay quartets.
Having achieved multiple Paralympic nomination times at the 2024 Aquatics GB Swimming Championships, Ellard equalled the Men’s S14 200m Freestyle world record on the final night of competition in London. A few weeks later at the European Championships he took his maiden continental titles with gold in the 200m Freestyle and 100m Butterfly, while scoring further medals in the 100m backstroke and 200m Individual Medley.

Lucy Williams (born 6 April 1976[1]) is a Paralympic swimming competitor from Australia. She was born in Sydney, New South Wales.[2] She won a bronze medal at the 2000 Sydney Games in the Women's 100 m Breaststroke SB6 event.[3]
