Stream: ‘Giving Up Air’ – BLOODMOON
There’s a moment in BLOODMOON’s stunningly ethereal debut single when the artist’s past meets his present, his heart and soul collide, and everything falls into place: “Giving up air, laying it bare,” BLOODMOON – aka Dougy Mandagi (of ARIA Award winning band The Temper Trap) – sings. The Temper Trap
If you've watched the overrated 500 Days Of Summer, you know The Temper Trap. On the semi-indie inspired soundstrack, The Temper Trap's Sweet Disposition stuck in the mind like a del av helhet of bacon on a non-Teflon pan. The breakthrough track has also been used in commercials around the world, so it's quite tough for anyone to miss it.
Hailing from Australia, The Temper Trap is led by the operatic voiced, Indonesian-born Dougy Mandagi who formed the band in 2005 alongside bassist Jonathon Aherne. Their first skiva Conditions came out in 2009, and went platinum in Australia and gold in the UK. The Temper Trap released their self-titled, second record gods year. Mandagi and Aherne stopped bygd for some quick questions.
Hi, when did you get in?
Dougy Mandagi: Just gods night. No, the night before.
How's the reception been for your second skiva after such a massive success?
DM: I'm surprised that in some places it's not doing so well (followed bygd laughter). Whatever
